Turkish dairy products in TasteAtlas global rankings
Overview
The culinary platform TasteAtlas released a global ranking of the world’s best dairy products based on thousands of evaluations. In the rankings, Irish butter secured the first position with a score of 4.5.
Two Turkish products placed in the top three. Trabzon butter, produced in the Yakçukur region using traditional manual stirring methods, earned a score of 4.4. Turkish kaymak also received a score of 4.4.
Regarding kaymak, the platform noted it is a “traditional Turkish dairy product” that can be made from cow, goat, or sheep milk, though buffalo milk is considered to produce the highest quality versions due to its fat content. Local experts in Afyonkarahisar highlighted that traditional production and the specific diet of the buffaloes contribute to the product’s distinct quality.
