As the investigation expands, authorities have suspended 131 investment funds, valued at approximately 17 billion euros, amid suspicions of market manipulation. This action has reportedly affected nearly 500,000 small investors who utilized these funds to protect savings against high inflation. Justice Minister Akin Gürlek has likened the operation to a “pyramid scheme.”

While the Capital Markets Board (SPK) examines potential market manipulation or information abuse, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated legal proceedings against 76 individuals. Law enforcement actions have already resulted in the detention of over 50 fund managers and businesspeople. Opposition figures, including Zeynel Emre of the New Party, have highlighted that Kaya allegedly realized approximately 27.5 million dollars from stock sales just before a major market downturn on September 16.
