Tuscany community healthcare hub expansion
Overview
The Tuscany regional government continues to expand its community health hub network using funding from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
In late July, a new Casa di Comunità Hub was inaugurated in Castiglion Fiorentino. This €1.8 million project refurbished 800 square meters of space to include seven ambulatory units, aimed at extending primary care for elderly and chronic patients.
Following this, in early August, a second hub was opened in Pontremoli. This project involved a €2.35 million investment to transform the historic Palazzo Mazzini into a 1,000-square-meter socio-sanitary facility. The hub integrates local services, including family doctors, pediatricians, and specialists, to support the Alta Lunigiana area.
