TVB Goddess Matching Project season two updates
Overview
TVB premiered the second season of its dating reality show, ‘Goddess Matching Project 2’, on September 6. Hosted by Lin Shengbin, the season features five female participants—Roxanne Ho, Mandy Yuen, Amber Chan, Kanis Yu, and Juliana Kwok—and an upgraded competition format. Recent episodes have seen significant emotional developments and contestant popularity shifts.
Following the elimination of Ding Biao, an emotional farewell with contestant Amber drew positive responses from viewers and host Bob Lam. Meanwhile, mixed-race air conditioning technician and former boy band member Oscar Fong has gained popularity; he recently addressed rumors regarding his appearance by sharing childhood photos to clarify his physical changes were due to natural development.
Contestants have also faced online scrutiny. During a promotional event, Ho Pui-ka expressed self-doubt after being labeled a ‘green tea’ (manipulative) by netizens following her choice of Oscar. Oscar responded by taking responsibility, urging viewers to direct criticism toward him rather than the women. Other participants, including Yu Ka-ching and Alan, addressed public comments through humor or shifts in persona.
In the ‘Heartbeat Telephone Booth’ segment, Oscar became a central figure for multiple women. Chiuyi utilized a special privilege to secure a one-on-one session with Oscar, during which the pair completed a ‘Heartbeat Capsule’ challenge. Roxanne also selected Oscar for a session to resolve previous misunderstandings, noting that he found her more approachable than her perceived ‘cold’ persona. Additionally, contestant Mark expressed interest in Roxanne by gifting her a handmade beanie.
