UAE logistics and economic partnership expansion
Overview
The United Arab Emirates is expanding its logistics and economic infrastructure through new regional and international partnerships.
Domestically and regionally, Etihad Rail and AD Ports Group launched a direct rail service connecting Fujairah Terminals to the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD), allowing cargo to be transported approximately 200 km by rail for customs and inspection services. Additionally, a logistics corridor between Sharjah and Oman has processed approximately US$463 million in cargo during its first three months, marking a 66.26% increase in cargo value compared to the previous year.
On an international scale, Emirates SkyCargo and Dubai Chambers partnered to support the global growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by providing access to international logistics networks and customs clearance services. Furthermore, economic ties with Germany have strengthened following a state visit by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, resulting in approximately 30 bilateral agreements and MoUs valued at over $10 billion USD, targeting sectors such as AI, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing.
