While Russian officials in Samara claimed air defenses repelled a massive attack, resulting only in localized industrial damage and several injuries, the Ukrainian General Staff confirmed direct hits and fires at the Progress center and the Savasleika airfield. This escalation coincides with rising diplomatic tensions, as the Russian Foreign Ministry has demanded explanations from the United States and Turkey regarding the potential transfer of ATACMS tactical missiles and launchers to Kyiv. Moscow has warned that such supplies would cause ‘inevitable damage’ to bilateral relations with Washington and Ankara, questioning their roles as potential mediators.
