Ukrainian unmanned ground vehicle development

The development and deployment of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) in Ukraine has progressed through strategic industrial partnerships and the introduction of specialized robotic systems.

In October 2026, ARX Robotics and the Ukrainian company Roboneers established a strategic partnership to focus on unmanned land warfare. This collaboration, signed in Kyiv, involves the technical integration of systems and joint development efforts. It follows a previous agreement to form ARX Industries, a joint venture aimed at the serial production of the Rys Pro UGV in both Germany and Ukraine. The partnership seeks to provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with large-scale fleets of smart UGVs while incorporating battlefield lessons into Western land systems.

Concurrently, the Brave1 defense innovation cluster has expanded the availability of robotic technology through the Brave1 Market platform, introducing amphibious ground robotic complexes. These NRK-amphibious robots are designed to navigate rivers, canals, and marshlands to enhance military logistics. Such systems have already undergone combat testing, including a successful 40-kilometer mission by the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade to deliver food and ammunition. Reports indicate that ground robotic complexes have completed over 100,000 tasks for soldiers on the front lines since the beginning of the year.
