Umbria regional employment initiatives

The Umbria regional government has initiated several programs to strengthen local employment services and labor market integration.

Initially, the region approved the ‘Rete umbra per il lavoro’ (Umbrian Work Network) initiative. This program allocates 5 million euros, funded through the European Social Fund Plus (FSE+) 2021-2027, to facilitate the reentry of unemployed individuals and those on social safety nets into the workforce. The strategy utilizes an integrated public-private model by pairing accredited employment agencies with regional centers.

Following this, the region expanded its efforts through direct hiring and professional development events. The in-house company PuntoZero S. c. a. r. l. launched public selections for 200 permanent and part-time positions, including healthcare front-office operators and administrative staff in Perugia and Terni.

Furthering these efforts, the ‘Umbria Lavoro Fest’ is scheduled for October 1–2 in Terni at the new Arpal headquarters. The event includes the inauguration of a new Employment Center funded by the PNRR and offers 149 job opportunities from approximately 50 companies, which has already attracted 333 applications. The festival is set to feature workshops on CV writing, discussions regarding the ecological transition, and strategic tables for regional development.
