UNAM-China academic and scientific cooperation

Overview

The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the Chinese government are working to expand academic and scientific cooperation. During a meeting between Rector Leonardo Lomelí and China’s Minister of Science and Technology, Yin Hejun, discussions focused on strengthening joint research projects and increasing mobility opportunities for students and researchers.

Cooperation mechanisms are expected to be reviewed through the Science and Technology Subcommittee of the Permanent Binational Commission and promoted via the China-CELAC Forum. UNAM aims to increase collaboration across various disciplines, including physical-mathematical, engineering, biological, chemical, health, and social sciences. The university currently maintains 25 active agreements with 14 Chinese higher education institutions.
