Underage alcohol sales compliance in Denmark

Overview

Inspections conducted by the Danish Safety Technology Authority between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2026, revealed high rates of underage alcohol sales. Out of 1,389 alcohol-related inspections, 483 resulted in violations where minors successfully purchased alcohol.

Following these findings, a legislative proposal has been introduced to extend the trial period, which uses controlled buyers aged 15 to 17, until the summer of 2028.
