In late July 2026, authorities in Ipoh, Malaysia reported two separate incidents of sudden, unexplained deaths. On 25 July, two 14‑year‑old female students were found dead in an abandoned flat in Buntong. Police said the girls had left school voluntarily and found no evidence of third‑party involvement; the cause of death remained unknown pending a forensic autopsy.

A few days later, on the night of 30 July, a 46‑year‑old mother and her two daughters, aged 12 and 11, were discovered dead in a bedroom of a house in Bandar Baru Tambun. Investigators found a container that appeared to hold burnt‑charcoal but reported no visible injuries or signs of foul play. Post‑mortem examinations were scheduled to determine the cause. In both cases, police urged the public to respect the families' privacy and refrain from speculation while investigations continued.
