Universidad Nacional del Comahue academic expansion

The Universidad Nacional del Comahue (UNCo) in Argentina is expanding its academic resources and regional presence in Neuquén province.

Initial developments included the release of a new Spanish-as-a-Second-Language manual designed for young adult learners in Patagonia. This initiative, developed by students and faculty, aims to address a lack of locally-situated teaching materials. Concurrently, university leadership met with provincial legislative officials to discuss the role of the Juan José Brión Parliamentary Library as a study hub for students.

Following these academic developments, the university has moved to expand its professional reach in northern Neuquén. Through an agreement with NeuquénTur, the UNCo Faculty of Tourism is providing students with internship opportunities in tourist establishments in areas such as San Martín de los Andes and Villa La Angostura. Furthermore, authorities are working to consolidate the university’s academic structure in the Alto Neuquén Node, with plans for new academic proposals in 2027 to align with the local productive profile.
