Università Kore di Enna expansion in Sicily

Overview

Università Kore di Enna is expanding its academic presence into southeastern Sicily, specifically in Syracuse and Ragusa, following accreditation from Anvur.

In Syracuse, the university plans to launch two new programs for the 2026/2027 academic year: a six-year master’s degree in Medicine and Surgery and a five-year program in Primary Education Sciences. These programs are supported by agreements with the Syracuse Provincial Health Authority (ASP) and the Sicilian Region to integrate clinical training within local hospital structures, a move intended to support the development of a new hospital in Syracuse.

In Ragusa, the university is also activating a Medicine degree to serve the Hyblaean territory. The expansion has received support from Sicilian Regional President Renato Schifani and regional Health Assessor Marcello Caruso, aiming to address local shortages of medical professionals and educators.
