Universitat Politècnica de València expansion

The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) is pursuing both domestic infrastructure expansion and international academic growth.

In Spain, the university has announced an 8.5 million euro investment for its Alcoi Campus. This project includes the construction of a 2,400-square-meter teaching building, 2 million euros for stabilizing the Beniata slope to mitigate landslide risks, and 1.5 million euros for developing green spaces and pedestrian routes.

Simultaneously, the UPV has expanded its international presence by inaugurating the Beihang Valencia Polytechnic Institute (BVPI) in Hangzhou, China. This joint venture with Beihang University marks the first Spanish university campus located outside of Spain. The facility is part of a larger international macrocampus that includes French institutions such as the Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile de Toulouse and INSA Lyon.

Located in a major technological hub, the campus is designed to accommodate up to 10,000 students, with approximately 383 to 400 students currently enrolled. The project has received significant financial backing from Zhejiang province, including an initial investment of $1.2 billion and a commitment of $800 million over eight years to support infrastructure and research laboratories. The campus focuses on advanced fields such as robotics and aerospace, leveraging its proximity to companies like Unitree and Alibaba.
