University of Aden academic activities
Overview
The University of Aden has initiated several academic processes for the 2026–2027 academic year. In early September, the university commenced competitive entrance examinations for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, followed by preparatory year testing for the Faculty of Dentistry. Approximately 1,110 students participated in the dentistry exams. University officials and the Minister of Education monitored the proceedings to ensure transparency and organizational discipline. Due to delays in high school graduation results, the university’s higher committee extended the admission and registration period. Administrative and postgraduate developments continued throughout September. On September 9, the Faculty of Arts Council scheduled second-round exams for the second semester to take place on September 20, 2026. On September 13, University President Professor Dr. Al-Khader Nasser Lasour inspected competitive entrance examinations for Master’s degree programs in Business Administration and Accounting. Additionally, Dr. Hadi Al-Mansouri, Acting Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, inspected the Center for Environmental and Climate Studies to review preparations for its first cohort of postgraduate students. Center Director Dr. Fawaz Bahmish briefed officials on infrastructure upgrades and technical developments. By late September, the university expanded its quality assurance and research initiatives. The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences implemented its first standardized assessment for 242 fourth-year medical students. Led by Dean Dr. Abdul Hakim Omar Al-Tamimi, the assessment utilized a dual-track system consisting of electronic multiple-choice questions and written exams using diagnostic slides to evaluate learning outcomes. In early October, the university continued its focus on specialized postgraduate studies. President Dr. Al-Khader Nasser Lasour inspected competitive scholarship examinations for the Executive Master’s program in Environment and Climate at the Center for Environmental and Climate Studies. Supported by the Sela Foundation for Development, nineteen students are competing for ten scholarships through a two-stage process of written exams and personal interviews.
