University of Aden academic research initiatives

Overview

The University of Aden has undertaken several academic initiatives focused on historical and heritage research. In early August 2026, the Faculty of Education launched a specialized training program titled ‘Methods of Investigating Heritage Books’. This course, organized by the Department of Islamic Studies, provided graduate students with scholarly methods for handling manuscripts and preserving Islamic intellectual heritage.

Following this, the Faculty of Arts hosted discussions for graduation projects within the Department of History. These academic evaluations covered diverse historical periods, including studies on Islamic administrative offices, the kings of the Kingdom of Saba, and the role of Saad Zaghloul in the national movement between 1914 and 1927. These activities aim to strengthen research capabilities and prepare qualified academic cadres for postgraduate studies.
