University of Nebraska–Lincoln institutional developments

Overview

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln has achieved several institutional milestones. The university earned the Carnegie Elective Classification for Sustainability, becoming one of the first 14 U.S. institutions to receive this designation following a pilot program. This classification recognizes the integration of sustainability into curriculum, research, and operations.

In the College of Business, the university has expanded its professional development offerings. The Undergraduate Certificate in Sales Excellence Program recently inducted 50 students from 12 different majors and four separate colleges. Managed by the Center for Sales Excellence, the program allows students to begin coursework as early as their first year to enhance communication and problem-solving skills.

Additionally, the Nebraska Center for Entrepreneurship is marking its 40th anniversary. Founded in 1986, the center is currently ranked No. 35 globally in undergraduate entrepreneurship programs. To celebrate the milestone, the center is hosting an event during the Nebraska Business Alumni Tailgate on Nov. 21. Alongside these celebrations, 25 students have been selected for the seventh class of the Investors With Purpose program, a semester-long course focused on investing and wealth management.
