University of Zenica academic developments

Overview

The University of Zenica has entered a new academic period marked by both enrollment updates and institutional milestones. Early in the 2026/2027 academic year, the university reported an enrollment of 695 new first-cycle students, a slight increase from the previous year, though certain programs like “Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies” fell short of targets. The institution also faced capacity constraints at its Medical Faculty due to a lack of a university hospital.

Following the start of the term, the University of Zenica celebrated its 26th anniversary. The milestone included the promotion of 11 new doctors of science, 362 graduates, and 56 master’s degree holders. The anniversary also focused on international academic cooperation through the ‘Europe Days’ initiative, which involved nine European university rectors to strengthen regional partnerships.
