Urban development and infrastructure in Gandia
Overview
Gandia has initiated several large scale development projects. In October 2026, the city announced over 22 million euros in investments, including a 14 million euro contract for the Center for Research in Marine Science Technology and an 8 million euro urban redevelopment project near the port to integrate the area with the city through new gardens and walkways.
By November 2026, the city progressed with its Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUS). This strategic initiative aims to reorganize movement across various neighborhoods, including El Grau and the beach area, by analyzing public transport, pedestrian routes, and traffic circulation to improve bicycle accessibility and bus frequencies.
