Urban drainage infrastructure projects in Porto Velho
Overview
In Porto Velho, infrastructure projects are being implemented to improve urban drainage and mitigate flooding. In the Cai N’Água neighborhood, the revitalization of the Santa Bárbara canal has entered a new phase involving the installation of two-meter diameter pipes and containment boxes to enhance water flow. This work is being conducted by the Municipal Infrastructure Secretariat (Seinfra) with support from the Companhia de Águas e Esgotos do Estado de Rondônia (Caerd).
Additionally, in the Três Vendas district, the Department of Urban Drainage has started installing 1,000-millimeter diameter concrete pipes on Avenue 4 within the Getúlio Vargas allotment. These upgrades are intended to direct water toward the collector canal near Lobão Park, providing a flow capacity of approximately 3,000 liters per second to address drainage issues caused by recent rainfall.
