Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz to end doubles partnership

Overview

German doubles players Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz advanced to the US Open men’s doubles final after defeating Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury with a 6-3, 6-4 victory.

In the final, the duo lost to Christian Harrison and Neal Skupski with scores of 4:6 and 6:7 (6:8). While the pair earned $500,000 for their performance, Tim Pütz indicated that their partnership may conclude, noting, “The chance exists that it will not continue,” due to challenges in balancing his professional career with family life.

Following a recent discussion, Kevin Krawietz confirmed that the partnership will officially end at the start of next year. Pütz, 38, had previously suggested this outcome following the US Open loss to prioritize time with his family. Having played together since 2023, the duo’s most significant achievement was winning the 2024 ATP Finals.

Before their partnership concludes, they are scheduled to compete in the ATP Finals in Turin from November 15 to 22, and the Davis Cup finals in Bologna from November 24 to 29. Krawietz has already secured a new partner for the upcoming season: former world number one Mate Pavic from Croatia.
