US sanctions on international far-left groups

Overview

The United States has implemented a series of sanctions targeting international far-left organizations. The US Treasury and State Departments designated the UK-based group Palestine Action as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) entity, following a similar move by the United Kingdom in July 2025. This designation marks the first time a British left-wing activist group has faced US counter-terrorism sanctions.

In addition to Palestine Action, the US sanctioned the Italy-based Autistici/Inventati (A/I Collective) for allegedly providing digital infrastructure to radical militants, and Masar Badil, which was identified as a front for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). Individual sanctions were also applied to Masar Badil leaders Rawa Alsagheer and Zaid Abdulnasser.

The sanctions include freezing assets under US jurisdiction and prohibiting US persons from conducting transactions with these entities. For Palestine Action, the measures include freezing US-based property and bank accounts, banning the provision of goods or services, and imposing lifetime US entry bans on founders Richard Barnard and Huda Ammori.
