US TRIPP+ fund for South Caucasus corridor
Overview
In July 2026 the U.S. State Department named Russian‑born American investor Konstantin Sokolov as chair of the newly created TRIPP+ enterprise fund, a $201 million financing vehicle aimed at developing the "Trump Route" trade corridor across the South Caucasus and Central Asia. The fund was set to provide loans, equity investments and grants for transportation, energy and critical‑mineral projects in eight countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
A few weeks later, in early August 2026, the United States announced that the TRIPP+ fund would be expanded to $402 million. The increase was presented as a step to deepen infrastructure development along the corridor. The fund’s implementing entity, the TRIPP Development Company, remains a joint venture owned 26 % by Armenia and 74 % by the United States, operating under the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation. The expansion maintains the same geographic scope and investment mechanisms, reinforcing the U.S. commitment to private‑sector growth in the region.
