Trade was reported at roughly $1 billion and projected to reach $1.5 billion, reinforcing the push to double volumes. India, chairing BRICS in 2026, thanked Uzbekistan for backing BRICS initiatives and pledged support for its 2027‑29 NAM chairmanship. A parliamentary friendship group was created, and thousands of students and professionals from both sides are participating in exchange programmes such as India’s ITEC.
