Overview

In late July 2026 Valencia’s cultural sector expanded its support for local creators and heritage. A technical residency programme revived by Danza València and the University of Valencia gave choreographer Marta García Navarro studio time for a new work, while the IVAM mounted a travelling exhibition that highlighted traditional materials and living craft.

The following day the Valencia City Council signed a partnership with the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía to stage a series of itinerant zarzuela performances in neighbourhoods. Funded with a municipal contribution, the six‑show programme aims to broaden public access to lyrical arts and promote Valencian musical heritage through outreach and education.
