Valencian Community judicial family meeting point closures
Overview
In the Valencian Community, the PSPV-PSOE political party has reported that the closure of seven judicial Family Meeting Points (PEFJ) will impact more than 2,000 families.
While the regional government (Consell) announced a partial rectification of a plan to cut ten centers, a new map scheduled for implementation on November 1 maintains the elimination of several locations. The affected municipalities include Requena, Manises, and Alfafar in Valencia; Sant Vicent del Raspeig, Vila Joiosa, and Villena in Alicante; and Vila-real in Castellón.
Romina del Rey, the PSPV-PSOE spokesperson for Children and Adolescents, criticized the decision by the PP and Vox-led government. She stated that the cuts “reduce the protection network for minors and create suffering for families by removing access to safe, neutral spaces,” further asserting that the protection of minors is not a priority for the current administration.
