Valve Steam Personal Calendar launch

Overview

Valve has officially transitioned the Steam Personal Calendar from a year-long experimental phase in Steam Labs to a permanent feature available to all users.

The tool uses a playtime-driven algorithm to recommend both popular and niche titles by analyzing the games a user has spent the most time playing. This system identifies similar player profiles to suggest games those users have played or wishlisted. While the calendar updates daily, Valve noted that recommendations change gradually, as short gaming sessions are unlikely to significantly alter a user profile.

Available on PC, mobile, and SteamOS, the feature provides an eight-week window of upcoming and recent releases. Users can apply customization filters for genres, themes, or wishlisted titles. Valve confirmed the calendar is not a paid advertising space; all recommendations are algorithmically generated without manual curation or paid placement options. During its testing period, Valve reported high engagement, with users clicking on an average of over 2,000 different games every 24 hours.
