Van Vicker defamation lawsuit against Lil Win
Overview
Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has filed a GH¢10 million defamation lawsuit against fellow actor and comedian Kwadwo Nkansah, known as Lil Win, at the High Court in Accra. The legal action seeks exemplary and general damages for libel, a public apology, and a retraction of statements.
The suit follows a video posted to social media in August 2026, titled “LIL WIN BANS VAN VICKER FROM ACTING IN KUMASI!”. Van Vicker alleges the video portrayed him as dishonest and unprofessional, causing significant reputational harm and impacting his professional relationships within the Kumawood movie industry.
In response to the filing, actor Wayoosi advised Lil Win to be more mindful of public statements, noting that this is the second major defamation case involving the comedian, following a GH¢5 million lawsuit filed by actress Martha Ankomah in February 2024. Entertainment pundit Watumoto supported the use of the judicial system as a constructive alternative to public verbal confrontations.
