In Tampico, Tamaulipas, multiple vehicle financing companies have faced allegations of fraud from clients who claim they paid down payments and monthly installments without receiving their vehicles.
Initial reports involved Crevi Auto, where protesters gathered at the company’s offices on Avenida Hidalgo to demand refunds. Victims reported paying significant down payments, such as 18,000 pesos, only to receive no updates on their applications despite being instructed to continue making monthly payments. While some clients claimed a small group received refunds, others stated that promised returns failed to materialize.
Subsequent reports identified similar irregularities involving Bil Yax Motors (also known as BYM). Approximately 15 individuals have coordinated to potentially file joint complaints with the state prosecutor’s office. Victims reported paying down payments for vehicles, such as a 2026 Kia K3, and being met with evasive responses from company representatives. When seeking refunds, clients reported being denied based on specific contract clauses.
