Vehicle-related incidents in Gwalior
Overview
In Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, two separate incidents involving vehicle collisions resulted in serious injuries.
On a Thursday night in the Ghas Mandi area, a car collided with a vehicle carrying Kanwar pilgrims. The collision led to an argument during which car occupants allegedly attacked the pilgrims with sticks, iron rods, and a hammer. Two pilgrims, Vivek Yadav and Shubham Yadav, sustained serious injuries, including a severe head injury. Following the assault, protesters briefly blocked roads to demand action, and authorities detained three individuals while reviewing CCTV footage to identify further suspects.
Later in the month, a speeding four-wheeler struck a motorcycle on the Dabra-Chinaur road. The collision severely injured a husband and wife, Gajendra and Laxmi Dubey, who were transported to Dabra Civil Hospital before being referred to Gwalior for advanced treatment. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, and local police are searching for the unidentified individual.
