In late July, authorities in Essen, Germany, arrested a suspect at gunpoint after a pursuit of a stolen Kia Sportage. Around the same time in Stein, Switzerland, a suspect was detained following a series of vehicle break-ins.

By early August, a cross-border pursuit involving Belgian and German police, including the use of a helicopter, concluded in Eschweiler, Germany. The chase ended after the driver of a stolen vehicle collided with a Federal Police vehicle on the A44 motorway, resulting in the apprehension of two men.
