Venezuela national vacation recreation program
Entities: Venezuela · Delcy Rodríguez · Plan Nacional de Recreación Vacacional · Venezuela Renace 2026 · Marisel Velásquez
Overview
In late July 2026 the Venezuelan government announced a nationwide summer‑vacation initiative to improve community well‑being. Governor Arnaldo Sánchez introduced the "Venezuela Renace 2026" plan, while President (e) Delcy Rodríguez launched the broader "Plan Nacional de Recreación Vacacional" and the regional "Venezuela Ríe" rollout, establishing temporary camps and specialist committees across municipalities.
By early August the program was formally inaugurated as "Venezuela Ríe 2026" with a target of reaching three million children. Deployment expanded to nine thousand recreators operating in 5 336 community circuits and 107 temporary camps for displaced families, offering sports, cultural, psychological and nature‑education activities for children, adolescents, seniors and heads of households. A prize scheme announced by Vice‑President Héctor Rodríguez offered trips to several states for top‑scoring participants.
In Nueva Esparta, Governor Marisel Velásquez opened the regional rollout at the Paseo de los Pescadores in Tubores, coordinating with local mayor Dignysbel Figueroa and the Integral Recreation Network. More than 300 volunteers, therapists and artists will work in 75 communal circuits and six high‑impact sites, providing games, tournaments, workshops and artistic events Monday‑Thursday in community spaces and Friday‑Sunday in designated plazas.
The initiative then moved to Mérida state. The first launch in the El Alcázar sector of San Rafael de Alcázar featured traditional games, face‑painting, sports circuits, and science workshops on recycling and reforestation. A second rollout in Sotillo municipality, overseen by Governor Ernesto Luna and local officials, added football, inflatable castles, tree‑planting, a barber service and other team‑building activities for over 130 participants, underscoring the program’s focus on ecological awareness and safe leisure for Venezuelan youth.
