Veracruz summer cultural program

An initial notice on 4 July announced a free Veracruz Fandango Festival slated for 31 July. By the end of the month, the Veracruz State Culture Secretariat detailed a broader slate of activities: a Summer Contemporary Dance Course beginning 4 August, a municipal Mercadito Bicentenario market fair on 1‑2 August, direct‑sale fig stalls by growers from Tatatila, and pre‑Festival del Mar events such as beach clean‑ups, performances and environmental workshops. The rollout shows the transition from a single festival announcement to a coordinated series of cultural, commercial and environmental initiatives across the state.

In August 2026, the third edition of the Mercadito Bicentenario in Xalapa attracted more than 50 local entrepreneurs. Free stalls showcased regional crafts, foods, coffee, honey and agricultural products, while cultural programming included a Zumba class, live DJ sets, urban‑art performances, a monologue and a ballet folklórico show. Mayor Daniela Griego Ceballos and other city officials attended, highlighting the market’s role in boosting the local economy, promoting direct sales and revitalising public spaces for families.
