Viennale 2026 film festival
Overview
The 64th Viennale is scheduled to take place in Vienna from October 22 to November 3, 2026. The festival program focuses on international auteur cinema, Austrian film history, and cinematic rediscoveries.
The event is set to open with Johann Lurf’s 70mm work ‘Forever…Forever’, filmed at the Ottenstein reservoir. The lineup includes a retrospective of Phil Solomon’s work, a focus on the amateur film club scene in socialist Yugoslavia, and a new 3D documentary by Wim Wenders titled ‘From Inside Out – The Architecture of Peter Zumthor’.
