Vietnam border guard activities and sovereignty efforts

Vietnam's border guards are conducting various activities focused on national defense, sovereignty education, and community support across different regions.

In Ca Mau province, the Border Guard is working to strengthen national defense and maritime security in the southernmost region, which includes a 254 km coastline and several island clusters. These efforts are occurring alongside regional development projects such as the Ca Mau – Dat Mui expressway and airport upgrades. Additionally, the unit is engaging in community welfare through programs like “Nâng bước em đến trường” (Supporting students to school), providing scholarships and supplies to disadvantaged students in coastal and island areas.

In Thanh Hóa province, border guards at the Tén Tằn Border Gate station are conducting educational sessions for students at Mường Lát Primary and Secondary School. Using both Vietnamese and Lao, instructors teach students about national sovereignty, border regulations, and the importance of protecting territorial boundaries. Students are also instructed on how to report violations regarding boundary markers to local authorities.
