Vietnam-Cambodia Khanh Binh - Chrey Thom border inauguration

Overview

On October 3, 2026, authorities from Vietnam’s An Giang Province and Cambodia’s Kandal Province officially inaugurated the Khanh Binh - Chrey Thom international land border gate. The crossing, located at the end of National Highway 91C, connects to the Chrey Thom gate via the Long Binh - Chrey Thom bridge, providing a direct route to Phnom Penh approximately 75 to 76 kilometers away.

The upgrade follows coordination between the two provinces that began in 2016. The new gateway is intended to facilitate easier movement for citizens and tourists while boosting import-export efficiency. Local authorities expect the connection to strengthen economic, trade, and logistics links between the Mekong Delta, Cambodia, and the broader ASEAN region. An Giang Province has established a target for import-export goods value through this gate to reach approximately 1.2 billion USD by 2030.
