Vietnam cosmetic product regulatory actions

Overview

The Drug Administration of Vietnam has taken regulatory actions regarding various cosmetic products in the market.

In late September, the Ministry of Health issued a decision to revoke 551 registration numbers for imported cosmetics across 24 companies. This action followed voluntary requests from distributors, such as HEBE VN Co., Ltd. and MOKSA Co., Ltd., who indicated they no longer had business demand for products spanning makeup, skincare, and haircare categories.

By early October, regulatory focus shifted to a mandatory recall. The Drug Administration ordered a nationwide suspension and recall of ‘Diary Hair Perfume With Vitamin Love Story In Seoul’, distributed by Paltac Vietnam Co., Ltd. The recall was prompted by labeling violations where the product’s advertised uses did not align with its approved documentation. Authorities instructed that if labeling cannot be corrected, the products must be destroyed.
