Vietnam cross-border e-commerce development initiatives

Overview

Vietnam is implementing various programs to enhance the digital capabilities of its small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for international trade.

In late September 2026, the second phase of the ‘Accessing the European Market through E-commerce’ project launched. This collaboration between the ITC SheTrades initiative, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, and the Netherlands Embassy focuses on helping women-led SMEs meet European standards and integrate into global value chains.

By late October 2026, Amazon and the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM) introduced the ‘Young Entrepreneurs Reaching International Markets via E-commerce’ program. This initiative aligns with the government’s ‘Vietnam GoGlobal (2026-2030)’ strategy. The program aims to provide young-led businesses with training in market research, branding, logistics, and artificial intelligence to overcome operational hurdles and facilitate global expansion.
