Overview

Vietnam and the Czech Republic are expanding bilateral cooperation across economic and administrative sectors.

In early August, a delegation from the People’s Committee of Đà Nẵng visited the Czech Republic to discuss deepening investment and trade ties. The delegation proposed the creation of a Vietnam-Czech industrial park or special economic zone within the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, focusing on sectors such as manufacturing, electronics, and green energy.

Later in the month, the State Audit Office of Vietnam and the Supreme Audit Office of the Czech Republic met in Prague to strengthen cooperation regarding public investment audits. The discussions focused on exchanging expertise for large-scale infrastructure projects and the application of auditing technology, with Vietnamese officials expressing interest in the Czech model of independent auditing as Vietnam develops major infrastructure, including a high-speed railway.
