In late July 2026, Vietnam’s Prime Minister issued Directive No. 30/CT‑TTg, ordering ministries, local authorities and police to step up anti‑fraud measures. The directive called for early‑warning technologies, tighter control of e‑wallet and mobile‑money accounts, and coordinated action across several ministries. At the same time, Thanh Hóa province introduced Directive No. 12 to curb unnecessary meetings and require officials to spend a third of their time on field visits, aiming to improve administrative efficiency for citizens and businesses.

A week later, on 6 August 2026, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 41/2026/QĐ‑TTg, which will take effect on 1 October 2026. The decision repeals 66 outdated legal documents ranging from cultural policy to vocational‑training support, and partially revokes three older measures. The Ministry of Justice explained that many of these decrees remained technically in force despite being obsolete, prompting a comprehensive legal cleanup to enhance transparency and compliance.

Together, these actions illustrate a broader push by the Vietnamese government to tighten fraud prevention, streamline administrative procedures, and modernize the legal framework.
