Vietnam Great National Solidarity Festival in Prague
Overview
Prague is scheduled to host the inaugural Vietnam Great National Solidarity Festival in Europe on October 31 and November 1. The event serves to mark the 10th anniversary of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe and its third Congress.
Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam noted the festival carries a message of “unity, attachment to the homeland, and shared responsibility for the future,” highlighting the importance of the overseas Vietnamese community. The Czech Republic was chosen as the venue due to its large, integrated Vietnamese population and its strategic partnership with Vietnam.
Hoang Dinh Thang, Chairman of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe, stated the festival aims to showcase solidarity and evaluate a decade of community-building efforts. The Union, founded in Prague in 2016, currently connects associations across 23 countries. Organizers intend to focus on the role of the younger generation in preserving cultural identity and maintaining links between the Vietnamese homeland and European society.
