On 28 July 2026, Vietnamese doctors performed a minimally invasive two‑stage cardiac procedure on an 84‑year‑old woman in Thái Bình, stabilising a failing valve and coronary blockage. The same day, authorities investigated a separate death linked to a land dispute in Ho Chi Minh City.

The following day, 29 July 2026, two additional emergency cases were reported. In Uông Bí, a 76‑year‑old patient with severe bacterial sepsis was rescued through rapid intubation, broad‑spectrum antibiotics, vasopressors and renal replacement therapy, ultimately recovering and being discharged. In Ninh Bình, a 51‑year‑old man suffering a massive anterior ST‑elevation myocardial infarction was revived within minutes, received a stent for a near‑total coronary occlusion, and showed marked improvement within hours.

Also on 29 July, a 16‑month‑old boy in Hoàng Mai, Nghệ An, choked on a tamarind seed. Hospital staff activated a code, performed the Heimlich maneuver, and used direct laryngoscopy under short‑term anesthesia to remove the seed from his glottis. The infant’s breathing was restored, he was monitored briefly, and then discharged in stable condition. These incidents illustrate Vietnamese hospitals’ capacity to deliver rapid, intensive, life‑saving care across a range of critical emergencies, from cardiac and infectious crises to acute airway obstruction in children.
