Vietnam-Mongolia diplomatic and economic relations
Overview
Vietnam and Mongolia are working to deepen their Comprehensive Partnership through high-level diplomatic and economic engagement. Following a state visit by President To Lam in late 2024, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man is scheduled to visit Mongolia at the invitation of Speaker Sandag Byambatsogt.
The visit is intended to strengthen cooperation in politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, agriculture, defense, and culture. Economic ties have grown significantly, with bilateral trade turnover exceeding $155 million in 2025, including more than $100 million in Vietnamese exports. Both nations are specifically looking to expand agricultural cooperation by leveraging Mongolia’s livestock resources to meet Vietnamese market demands.
