Violence in Patisia, Athens

Overview

In the Patisia district of Athens, a 55-year-old man of Albanian origin was injured in a shooting during the early hours of Monday, September 7, 2026. The attack occurred around 04:55 at the intersection of Vroutou and Themu Anninou streets as the victim was leaving his home.

Two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle opened fire on the victim, striking him in the lower limbs. Following the shooting, the perpetrators fled the scene. One witness reported seeing two individuals wearing helmets fleeing the area on foot after the initial attack.

The victim was transported by EKAB emergency services to Georgios Gennimatas Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition and not in life-threatening danger.

Police investigators recovered three shell casings and one bullet at the scene. Authorities are currently reviewing security camera footage to track the suspects' route and are investigating various motives, including the possibility of a targeted settlement of accounts.
