Violent shootings in Mexican cities

Overview

A series of violent shootings has been reported in Mexican cities, including Guadalajara and León.

In late August, two separate fatal attacks targeted business owners. In Guadalajara, a dry cleaner manager was killed in the Santa Elena de la Cruz neighborhood following reported threats. In León, a hardware store owner was shot at close range by individuals on a motorcycle while loading materials.

In early September, a subsequent shooting occurred in Guadalajara on Avenida López de Legaspi. Two men in a pickup truck were attacked by individuals on a motorcycle. The passenger sustained a gunshot wound to the neck, while the driver also reportedly suffered injuries. Authorities have launched investigations into these incidents, though motives and arrests remain undetermined.
