Viral video of disappearing officer on ARA Libertad
Overview
A television broadcast on the Argentine training ship ARA Libertad went viral after a female naval officer appeared to vanish from view during a live interview. The footage, recorded by Todo Noticias (TN) as the vessel returned to Buenos Aires, showed naval lieutenant and dentist Loreley Beratz walking behind a reporter and failing to emerge on the other side as the camera panned.
The incident sparked widespread social media speculation, with some users describing the clip as a ‘glitch in the matrix’ and others questioning the use of artificial intelligence or video editing. However, media analysts and the television crew confirmed the footage was unedited.
Berley later addressed the phenomenon with humor, explaining that she had simply increased her pace toward the ship’s bow and exited the camera frame at the exact moment the lens panned.
