Vocational training program expansions

Regional and national vocational training initiatives have been launched in Spain and Venezuela to address labor demands and enhance professional skills.

In Spain, programs have focused on the construction sector in Fabero, where the ‘Fabero Antracita XVII’ masonry program integrates theoretical instruction with practical municipal projects. Subsequent initiatives in Don Benito and Morón de la Frontera have expanded training to include industrial cleaning, waste management, and tourism management, with some programs offering professional certifications or scholarships.

Recent regional expansions in Spain include subsidized digital and healthcare training in the Canary Islands, where nearly 200 online courses in fields such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and cybersecurity are being offered through the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy. In Cáceres, the ISLA V project, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus, provides 120 free training spots across eight municipalities, targeting local needs in e-commerce, warehouse activities, social care, and culinary arts. Additionally, the EFESO program in Don Benito continues to offer certifications in industrial cleaning, gardening, and waste management, while Morón de la Frontera provides tourism-focused training in event organization and route design to improve employability.

In Venezuela, the National Training and Employment Program for the Construction Sector has opened applications to train inexperienced individuals in trades such as masonry, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical installation by utilizing the expertise of veteran workers.
