Warsaw Marathon sets Polish record with participation

Overview

The 48th Warsaw Marathon has concluded, setting a new record as the largest marathon held in Poland. The event saw 11,180 participants start the race, with 10,830 runners successfully reaching the finish line.

In the women’s category, Hungarian runner Lili Anna Vindics-Tóth secured victory with a time of 2:24:48, establishing both a new course record and a national record for Hungary.

As anticipated, the event caused significant traffic disruptions across seven Warsaw districts, including Śródmieście, Praga, Wola, and Bemowo. Major thoroughfares and bridges, such as Aleja Jerozolimskie and Most Poniatowskiego, experienced closures that affected both private vehicles and public transport throughout the weekend.
