West Bank stabbing attack near Nablus

Overview

An Israeli man, identified as 19-year-old Netanel Jacobs, was critically injured in a stabbing attack near the Maoz Yehuda farming outpost, located close to the village of Usarin in the West Bank. The assailant arrived at the site by vehicle and engaged the victim, causing multiple wounds to Jacobs’ head, neck, and limbs.

Jacobs, who was treated at Beilinson Hospital, recounted fighting the attacker with his bare hands and attempting to subdue him after the assailant’s knife broke. He described chasing the attacker with a rock before realizing the extent of his injuries. His parents reported that he is currently in stable condition.

Following the attack, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a manhunt in the surrounding area. During the pursuit, the attacker reportedly attempted to stab soldiers before being shot and killed by an IDF company commander.

In response to the incident, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that “no terrorist has a safe haven” and pledged to continue targeting terrorist infrastructure. The attack occurred amid heightened security tensions in the Nablus, Samaria, and Binyamin regions.
