Overview

On October 2, the West Bengal government launched the ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’ welfare assistance camps to coincide with Gandhi Jayanti. The initiative established a single-window system to help citizens access approximately 60 different state and central government welfare schemes.

During the first day of the three-day program, more than 1.06 million people registered at the camps, with significant participation from the Bardhaman, Malda, Cooch Behar, and Jhargram districts. The program deployed 3,300 camps across various local administrative levels to assist with applications for schemes such as Annapurna Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and various disability or old age allowances.
